Activation Partners

Empowering talent and supporting science translation across our opportunity spaces

Apply to our second cohort

The request for proposals is now open – apply by 21 May 2026 (14:00 BST).

Following the success of our founding cohort, we're launching a call for a second cohort of Activation Partners. Building on what we've learned, we're expanding our work across two pillars.

The first is doubling down on what works: supporting the translation of frontier R&D from ARIA’s opportunity spaces through programmes spanning talent pipelines, engineering support, and organisation building.

The second introduces a new direction: expanding Activation Partnerships to bring advanced AI capabilities – from AI for Science tools to emerging AI Scientist systems – to ARIA-funded researchers and programmes. This includes building the infrastructure that enables researchers to access these technologies as they mature. We believe that advances in AI applied to science – both AI for Science models used by researchers and AI Scientists that can run the full research process with minimal intervention – will allow us to explore research directions at a scale and speed impossible for humans alone.

This £100m call will recruit 8-10 new Activation Partners to design and run bespoke activities across our opportunity spaces. Funding will be allocated based on the scale and ambition of proposed activities, and partnerships will run for an initial three-year period.
