Innovator Circles

Creating environments where visionary thinkers can raise each other’s ambition and pursue ideas that could underpin the next world-changing breakthrough.

What are Innovator Circles?

ARIA’s Innovator Circles initiative is designed to support individuals who want to convene their own informal, self-organised, technical peer groups, which we call Innovator Circles.

These are the settings in which transformative ideas are often born and where peers can push each other further and discuss incomplete ideas. We believe that the R&D ecosystem needs more of these spaces and that investing in the formation of technical communities is a direct investment in future talent and breakthroughs.

In 2025, we tested our initial hypothesis through a focused experiment which supported a small cohort of individuals to convene their own Innovator Circles. The groups produced outcomes which signalled the potential for future impact, but also provided insights on how to make the initiative even better.

We have now selected 10 Leads to establish Innovator Circles in topics ranging from exploring the immune system as an operating system, to compositional growth of neural networks. Two months into the initiative, we’re beginning to see early signs of impact: new collaborations, shifts in ambition, and the emergence of ideas that might not otherwise have formed.
